International Women’s Day – Honouring our Principal

In honour of International Women’s Day we want to highlight the woman who makes it all possible each and every day at the Montessori School in Kleinburg (MSK). Afterall, the purpose of this day is to celebrate women’s achievements and success and what better way to do this than to profile one of our very own?

Some may not know this but MSK was created by a dream; Vincenza Marzano-Kooner’s love of the Montessori pedagogy and the most perfect opportunity that presented itself. It’s safe to say, all the stars lined up perfectly. When the property was purchased back in 2002, the Marzano Family knew it was too special not to share with the world. With a little bit of luck and a lot of hard work – MSK became the great school it is today.

By believing in Vincenza’s dream, it gave her the opportunity to create a business on her own terms. And, as the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is an equal world is an enabled world , she demonstrates this mantra perfectly.   Vincenza sees the importance of lifting women up and paying it forward. By foraging an inclusive workplace for women to thrive, she has enabled an impressive team of female professionals that contribute to the school’s success each and every day.

As a true entrepreneur, she wears many hats and does so seamlessly. She is the magic-maker at MSK, a philanthropist and always puts others before herself – and her efforts have not gone unnoticed. Most recently Vincenza was nominated for the 2020 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Award. This prestigious award honours women who are accomplished but who have also made an impact on the world around them.

Vincenza teaches us that as a woman you can be a successful boss-babe with purpose while remaining true to your dreams. “Principal Enza” means business when it comes to giving an exceptional education to her students– but she will be the first person with open arms for a hug to whoever needs it.
